The 2nd Primary School part of the Blue Schools Network 2024-2025

 

 The creation of the eTwinning 2024-25 program, titled “SEL Wiz: Hocus Pocus: Heart and mind in focus – Discovering Nature’s Magic Within” – Celebrating UNESCO Days for Sustainability and Peace through cultivating SEL in students, aiming for our school's inclusion in the UNESCO AspNet Schools Network, allowed our students to collaborate with schools from other countries. This European collaboration helped them deepen their knowledge of the SDGs, exchange ideas, and share best practices in conjunction with technology. Simultaneously, it fostered the development of essential skills for 21st-century citizens, including the cultivation of social and emotional intelligence, critical thinking, problem-solving, and intercultural communication, thereby empowering them to actively contribute to the creation of a sustainable future.

By connecting the Blue Schools program with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our school has taken a leading role in fostering awareness among students as active citizens of the 21st century. Through the adoption of Blue Schools principles, students not only engaged with critical environmental issues directly linked to SDGs such as Quality Education (Goal 4), Clean Water and Sanitation (Goal 6), Sustainable Cities and Communities (Goal 11), Responsible Consumption and Production (Goal 12), Life Below Water (Goal 14), and Life on Land (Goal 15), but also realized that experiential learning cultivates a deeper understanding of global challenges and the imperative for collective action.
