Celebrating the European Day of Languages: "Languages for Peace"
8th primary school of Thebes in Greece | Teachers: ΜΑΤΣΑΓΓΟΥΡΑ ΕΙΡΗΝΗ & ΤΣΙΟΥΤΣΟΥ ΖΩΗ
On the occasion of the European Day of Languages (26 September), our students took part in this year’s theme: "Languages for Peace"—an initiative of the Council of Europe that promotes plurilingualism and cultural understanding across Europe.
As part of the celebrations, students designed creative posters using symbols, quotes, and artwork to express how languages can build bridges, promote peace, and bring people together. Their artworks were submitted to the official European Day of Languages website, contributing to a collective European voice for peace.
This activity inspired our students to appreciate linguistic diversity, embrace creativity, and understand the powerful role of language in creating a more peaceful world.
