Afonso de Paiva School | Ms Carla Nunes + CEIP La Rambla School | Ms Natalia Gómez - Hocus Pocus: Students Unite Across Borders

On the 18th of February, an exciting online meeting took place between 3rd grade students from Afonso de Paiva Primary School in Castelo Branco, Portugal and 5th grade students from CEIP La Rambla School in Alicante, Spain. This event was part of the joint eTwinning Project titled “SEL Wiz: Hocus Pocus: Heart and Mind in Focus—Discovering Nature’s Magic Within.”

The meeting kicked off with a mystery game quiz where students had to guess each other’s country, sparking curiosity and laughter. Following the game, the students took turns presenting themselves, sharing interesting facts about their lives and cultures. The event concluded on a high note with both groups singing and dancing songs, creating a joyful and memorable experience for everyone involved.

The 2nd Primary School part of the Blue Schools Network 2024-2025

   The creation of the  eTwinning 2024-25 program , titled “SEL Wiz: Hocus Pocus: Heart and mind in focus – Discovering Nature’s Magic Within” – Celebrating UNESCO Days for Sustainability and Peace through cultivating SEL in students, aiming for our school's inclusion in the  UNESCO AspNet Schools Network , allowed our students to collaborate with schools from other countries. This European collaboration helped them deepen their knowledge of the SDGs, exchange ideas, and share best practices in conjunction with technology. Simultaneously, it fostered the development of essential skills for 21st-century citizens, including the cultivation of  social and emotional intelligence ,  critical thinking ,  problem-solving , and  intercultural communication , thereby empowering them to actively contribute to the creation of a sustainable future.
