As part of
the eTwinning project "SEL Wiz: Hocus Pocus: Heart and Mind in
Focus", I participated with the 5th grade class of the 5th Primary School
of Munich, implementing a variety of activities that promoted emotional
intelligence, imagination, and teamwork, all centered around the themes of
nature and sustainability.
Our
approach was interdisciplinary, integrating subjects such as Greek Language,
Music, Art, Discovery of the World, and ICT skills. The students
enthusiastically took part in collaborative tasks, contributed to the creation
of the project’s common song, developed digital content, and expressed their
thoughts and feelings through artistic and literary creations.
A
particularly meaningful highlight of our participation was the collaboration
with the European School of Munich, where students co-created an original
character—the scarecrow—inspired by The Wizard of Oz. During an online meeting,
the children met virtually, exchanged ideas, and presented their creative work.
It was a joyful and heartwarming experience of communication, creativity, and
collaboration among Greek students in Munich.
This
project also served as a valuable opportunity to showcase our work within the
school community of the 5th Primary School “Socrates” in Munich. Through our
involvement, other classes and students had the chance to discover our
initiatives and observe how our pupils are developing key competencies such as
emotional intelligence, environmental awareness, and intercultural
understanding.
