The Wizard of Oz Reading - INSTITUT CASTELLET

At the beginning of the school year, when we started our class, we read one of two chapters of the Wizard of Oz. Each student read a fragment. The first chapter was in English and we translate it together, but the rest of the chapters were in catalan easier for us.

This book talks about one girl called Dorothy, and she lives in Kansas with her aunt and uncle and her dog Toto, but one strong cyclone moved her house to another land called Emerald city. Dorothy wants to go to visit the Wizard of Oz to return to Kansas, but along the road she find cowardly lion, the  scarecrow, the tin man and there were also the east and west witch. After have read the whole book every one made 3 questions for every chapters and in the final part we made a Kahoot for the students from the eTwinning project.

The 2nd Primary School part of the Blue Schools Network 2024-2025

   The creation of the  eTwinning 2024-25 program , titled “SEL Wiz: Hocus Pocus: Heart and mind in focus – Discovering Nature’s Magic Within” – Celebrating UNESCO Days for Sustainability and Peace through cultivating SEL in students, aiming for our school's inclusion in the  UNESCO AspNet Schools Network , allowed our students to collaborate with schools from other countries. This European collaboration helped them deepen their knowledge of the SDGs, exchange ideas, and share best practices in conjunction with technology.
