Students Celebrate World Water Day with a Collaborative Quiz on Water Awareness

 8th primary school of Thebes in Greece | Teachers: ΜΑΤΣΑΓΓΟΥΡΑ ΕΙΡΗΝΗ & ΤΣΙΟΥΤΣΟΥ ΖΩΗ On the occasion of World Water Day (March 22), the students of class E2 from our school took part in an educational and collaborative activity as part of the eTwinning project “SEL Wiz: Hocus Pocus – Heart and Mind in Focus”. The aim was to raise awareness about the value of water and the importance of its sustainable use. Through discussion, research, and creativity, the students co-created a collaborative quiz using Wordwall, featuring questions on water use, the water cycle, and global water-related challenges. This activity helped students: Recognize the importance of clean water and equal access to it, Understand the concept of sustainable water management, Develop digital and collaborative skills. Safer Internet Day 2025: Students Share Smart Tips for Staying Safe Online

  8th primary school of Thebes in Greece | Teachers: ΜΑΤΣΑΓΓΟΥΡΑ ΕΙΡΗΝΗ & ΤΣΙΟΥΤΣΟΥ ΖΩΗ On the occasion of Safer Internet Day, celebrated every year on February 11th, the students of class E2 from our school participated in a creative and collaborative activity as part of the European eTwinning project “SEL Wiz: Hocus Pocus – Heart and Mind in Focus: Discovering Nature’s Magic Within”, which promotes UNESCO Days for Sustainability and Peace through the development of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in students. The aim of this activity was to raise awareness among students about safe and responsible internet use. Each class from the participating schools was invited to contribute one good practice for safe browsing. These student-generated safety tips were collected in a shared Google Document and transformed into an engaging interactive Genially presentation titled “Safe Internet Day 2025”. Collaborative Sustainability Calendars: Art and Action for a Better World

 8th primary school of Thebes in Greece | Teachers: ΜΑΤΣΑΓΓΟΥΡΑ ΕΙΡΗΝΗ & ΤΣΙΟΥΤΣΟΥ ΖΩΗ The students of class E2 from our school proudly participated in a creative and collaborative activity as part of the European eTwinning project “SEL Wiz: Hocus Pocus – Heart and Mind in Focus: Discovering Nature’s Magic Within”, which celebrates UNESCO Days for Sustainability and Peace by cultivating Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in students. In this activity, students contributed to the creation of Collaborative Digital Calendars for Sustainability. Each calendar page was dedicated to a partner school, which uploaded their students’ drawings inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). ETWINNING 20 YEARS - INSTITUT CASTELLET

In this activity we celebrated 20 years of eTwinning. We made postcards that said "Happy Anniversary" in all the languages. Later, we decorated abig poster saying HAPPY ANNIVERSARY 20 YEARS. we inflated heart-shaped balloons.We took photos while we worked, finally we took a final photo with the poster and everything we had done. The Wizard of Oz Reading - INSTITUT CASTELLET

At the beginning of the school year, when we started our class, we read one of two chapters of the Wizard of Oz. Each student read a fragment. The first chapter was in English and we translate it together, but the rest of the chapters were in catalan easier for us. This book talks about one girl called Dorothy, and she lives in Kansas with her aunt and uncle and her dog Toto, but one strong cyclone moved her house to another land called Emerald city. Dorothy wants to go to visit the Wizard of Oz to return to Kansas, but along the road she find cowardly lion, the  scarecrow, the tin man and there were also the east and west witch. After have read the whole book every one made 3 questions for every chapters and in the final part we made a Kahoot for the students from the eTwinning project. Carmen, Ivet and Júlia

European Language Day - INSTITUT CASTELLET

We made a logo about the European Languages Day, and in this logo we could only use three colors since we had to make a simple logo.  Many schools from differents countries around Europe would participate, such as: Greece, Germany, Turkey, France... We had to vote for the one we like the most, by voting added a point to that logo and the one with the most points won and would be the logo that would represent our Etwinning Project.  Thanks to the logo, individually we were able to make the poster using three random colors plus black and among the class we had to choose the one we like best and vote to upload it in the contest. Mindful Moments in Our eTwinning Journey

 8th primary school of Thebes in Greece | Teachers: ΜΑΤΣΑΓΓΟΥΡΑ ΕΙΡΗΝΗ & ΤΣΙΟΥΤΣΟΥ ΖΩΗ As part of the “SEL Wiz: Hocus Pocus – Heart and Mind in Focus” project, our students practiced mindfulness techniques to boost their emotional well-being. Through breathing exercises, body scans, nature meditations, and gratitude circles, children learned to calm their minds, listen to their emotions, and stay focused.  These short daily moments helped students improve concentration, empathy, and self-regulation – key skills for learning and life.
